"Shuttles" Badminton Club                   ( 10 yrs old  - 17th birthday )

The Junior Club is a place where young people can meet and participate in various games.
For the members, it is a friendly relaxed way of learning the badminton game, while channelling
their energy.

There is a mild amount of coaching but not too intense as to stop them enjoying their time on court.
*If your youngster is involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme, then we can assist with achieving
a final result.
We meet most Saturdays throughout the year, at 10.00 am and play lasts up until around 12:30 pm.
It is just as much a social occasion.

So if your youngster is within that age group, then bring them along to join in the fun.

For the majority, it is hopefully 2+ hours of enjoyment and a chance to run around while using some of their excess energy.
This is an excellent opportunity to connect not only with others of their own age but older and younger
alike. It is just as much a social occasion. So if your youngster is within that age group,
then bring them along to join in the fun.
Even if they are almost 10 years old, but are capable and able
to play to an acceptable standard.
Then we are willing to test
their playing skills, in view
to officially joining the club.

Please wear sports type clothing along with light trainers.

It is advisable to bring along water based drink as players will likely use up their energy.

Previously a Professional Photographer, now retired, he has been

a voluntary group leader for the Junior Club since 1981.

The role had been traditionally shared by some senior club members including the former Club Captain, John Whittingham.   Over the

last two decades, David has taken sole charge of the junior club.

Davids father, being a coach, meant the "Justers" were badminton orientated and are still very much a badminton family.

Three generations have played to a very good standard and now Matthew, David's grandson, be he only 12 years old, is showing

promise against older players.

"Its good to see the youngsters improve their

standard of play within a short period of time"
