This year the
annual Christmas Dinner was served up at the Toby Carvery/Windsor
Castle in Purley Oaks.
Secret Santa
presents were handed out this year, to members and their
other halves, by Andy. |

In 2010 we were
treated to a delicious meal at the Chateau, located on Coombe
Road.
All
attending received a secret Santa present which caused much
hilarity. |

Due to a sudden very
heavy snowfall, many people couldn't make it to Dario Restaurant in
South Croydon.

The annual
Christmas Party was held on the
16th December at the Innkeepers Lodge/Windsor Castle.
A visit from Santa
left everyone in a merry mood.
Food was good as per
usual, the company was excellent and all were in a very jolly mood. |

AGM |
|

Hi All Thanks to
all those who attended the AGM on Friday evening (and thanks to
Nicola H for the cakes!).
For those who were unable to attend the main item to report is that
it was recommended that subscriptions and fees for the coming season
remain unchanged.
Claire produced some detailed estimated forecasts and whilst it is
always difficult to predict numbers of members and numbers playing
on club evenings it was felt that we should be able to keep
subscriptions at the current level for a further year (actually this
will be the fifth year that subs and shuttle fees have been at the
current rate).
We are aware that hall fees are likely to be increased significantly
(approx 10%) from 1st January and we may have to re-assess the
position as the season progresses.
So subscriptions are now due – cheques payable to Purley URC
Badminton Club – form an orderly queue in front of Claire tonight! |

to turn away new members the committee feel that we have to be
careful about accepting too many newcomers. Please have a word
