Although we limit membership members to 20,
there are, at this stage,
a few vacancies for new members,
so if you know of anyone who would like to join, then please put them
in contact with us or just
bring them along on a Saturday.
The club is specially for 10-15 year olds girls
and boyswho
can already play Badminton. Meeting at 10am until 12.00, on
a Saturday morning at the PUR Church hall, they get involved
in playing singles/doubles and various other fun games.
Fun is the word. We occasionally coach, but it has
just as
much of a social atmosphere for the
youngsters.
Boys/girls, just under 10 years will be accepted into the
junior club, but only if they have the experience/talent, as
they could be playing against 15/16 year olds that may very will be

The forthcoming Saturday we are holding an
open day for non-members to try out in view to join our
junior club.
With the help

History
September 2011
After another
editorial in the local newspaper we have gained some new
youngsters to swell the membership.
February 2011
I am pleased to
announce that we have sufficient numbers to keep the
Junior badminton Club going. Several youngsters
have joined and are enjoying the weekly fun games.
We are able to take more even so if anyone wants to
Tweet or Facebook status the club.
January 2011
Again we have seen
dwindling numbers due to the members being too old for the
applied age group (10-15 yrs) of the club. If indeed you know
of any fit youngsters between those ages please make them aware of
the Junior Club.

8/9 year olds will be considered if they show a talent for the game
Children may go for refreshments outside of
the hall, but MUST get permission from whoever
is on duty. As there is usually a coffee morning in the lounge then soft
drinks and cakes maybe purchased, although eating
sweets on court is forbidden.
Mobile phones can be left by the side of
the court but either turned off or on silent. (We have experienced calls during play and
that has interfered with the flow of the games.)
Whilst we
don't require you to wear "white games kit"
please make certain you wear sensible shoes and loose fitting clothing.
Sweets / food are all banned when playing
on court.
We expect
children to stay in the hall and not to run
round the corridors of the church. (This
is very important as there can often be people carrying pots of hot tea
and coffee in
the corridors.)
