The Club

Although we limit membership members to 20, there are, at this stage a few vacancies for new members, so if you know of anyone who would like to join, then please put them in contact with us or just bring them along on a Saturday.

bullet The club is specially for 10-15 year olds girls and boys who can already play Badminton.  Meeting at 10am until 12.00, on a Saturday morning at the PUR Church hall, they get involved in playing singles/doubles and various other fun games.

bulletFun is the word.  We occasionally coach, but it has just as much of a social atmosphere for the children.

bullet Boys/girls, just under 10 years will be accepted into the junior club, but only if they have the experience/talent, as they could be playing against 15 year olds that could be twice their height.

bulletAny decisions regarding the running of the club will made by John Whittingham, or David Juster who share the weekly duties.

News

If any current members would like to bring friends or relatives can they have words with whoever is on duty that day or e-mail a request in advance.
Subscription for the year, as from September works out at £25.00 or you can be pay per term.
Please if you want to join contact John via e-mail or telephone.
Numbers have increased and we have consistantly regular players but we can always take on a few more members so if you have any brothers, sisters or friends aged 10 - 15,  who may be interested in trying out badminton why not bring them along - they can come a couple of times before they need to decide whether they want to join!!
( 9 year olds will be considered if they show a talent for the game)

Finally just a few basic RULES to remind you :-

bullet Children may go for refreshments outside of the hall, but MUST get permission from whoever is on duty.  As there is usually a coffee morning in the lounge then soft drinks and cakes maybe purchased, although eating sweets on court is forbidden.

bullet Mobile phones can be left by the side of the court but either turned off or on silent.  (We have experienced calls during play and that has interfered with the flow of the games.)

bullet Whilst we don't require you to wear "white games kit" please make certain you wear sensible shoes and loose fitting clothing.

bullet Sweets / food are all banned when playing on court.

bullet We expect children to stay in the hall and not to run round the corridors of the church. (This is very important as there are often people carrying pots of hot coffee in the corridors.)
